Welcome to the BIPOC USHR Resource Directory
Land Acknowledgment & Solidarity
This digital space was created and is maintained on Epekwitk, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
As Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), we recognize that our presence on this island is tied to the ongoing history of colonialism. We stand in deep solidarity with the Mi’kmaq—the past, present, and future caretakers of this land. Our mission to thrive is inextricably linked to the sovereignty of the Indigenous people of Epekwitk. We commit to working, healing, and building relationships in a way that honors the Peace and Friendship Treaties and respects the land that sustains us all.
About This Directory
This directory is a tool for community-led navigation. Systemic racism and colonial structures often make it difficult to find safe, culturally competent, and dignifying support. Whether you are seeking mental health resources that understand racial trauma, legal guidance, or simply a space to connect with others who share your lived experience, this hub is built for you.
Our goal is to move beyond mere survival. We are here to provide the “USHR” (United for Strength, Home, Relationship) needed to ensure that every racialized person in PEI has the resources to live with joy, security, and power.
How to Use This Hub:
- Navigate: Find practical help for housing, legal, and immigration needs.
- Heal: Access BIPOC-centered wellness and mental health support.
- Connect: Find community groups and BIPOC-owned businesses to build local connections.
- Act: Use our toolkits to advocate for systemic change in your workplace and community.
